Fisher & Paykel MR 850 Heated Humidifier

It is a part of a system designed to deliver optimally humidified gas to adult and infant patients requiring mechanical ventilation. It has a dual feedback system with advanced algorithms designed to achieve optimal humidity levels, while minimizing caregiver attention required.

It has the following modes:

Invasive mode:  This mode is used for those patients whose upper airways has been bypassed by either a tracheotomy or endotracheal tube. In this mode of operation  the humidifier attempts to deliver optimal humidity to the patient (37 ° C, 100%RH), this mode is the default when the humidifier is turned on.

Non Invasive mode: This mode is suitable only for patients whose natural humidification system has not been bypassed, but are receiving gas via face mask or similar. Aims to deliver gas at a comfortable level of humidity ( 31 ° C, 32mg/ L) for face mask
